Bill Baker passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024 to once again be with his wife, Sheila, who predeceased him in February 2024.

Bill played cricket at the West Vancouver Cricket Club and skied on the local mountains before moving away from the North Shore. He also dedicated over 20 years volunteering with Scouts Canada and was awarded the prestigious Silver Acorn for his service.

A rather impressive achievement, Bill built his cabin in Whistler from the ground up with much of the material from the cleared property. Many years were spent building, then enjoying the cabin, providing him and his family with countless fond memories.

After 35 years with the Department of Transportation and Highways, Bill retired in 1994. He and Sheila travelled the world, enjoying beach vacations snorkeling, and exploring coral reefs, creating many happy memories.

Bill will be remembered by family and friends, as well as many of the staff at The Waterford, who came to know him during his time there. His stepsons Chris (Susan) and Phil (Rebecca), loving grand-daughters Jena, Chloe, and Avery, and niece Cheryl hold his memory close and will miss him very much.
