William Nutter Obituary

(William) Roy Nutter of Tsawwassen passed away peacefully at the age of 87 at Surrey Memorial Hospital on December 8, 2025.
Roy was born on April 2, 1938, in Leask, Saskatchewan, to George and Leora Nutter.
Roy earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia. Later, Roy completed a Master's in Education at Western Washington University. He dedicated his career to supporting young people, working as a middle school teacher and elementary school counsellor before retiring from the Richmond School District in 1997.
In 1962, Roy married the love of his life, Margot. Together, they built a warm and loving home and raised two children, Leanne and Michael, in Tsawwassen. Roy was a devoted husband and a caring, supportive father whose steady presence shaped the lives of those he loved.
Roy enjoyed travelling, gardening, and spending time with family. His gentle nature, curiosity, and warmth touched everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margot, daughter Leanne (Dave), and grandchildren Jacob (Stephany) and Ella. He is also survived by his sisters Judy (Bill) and Ruth (Andy), and his brother Rob (Lonnie).
Roy was predeceased by his son Michael and his sisters Joan and Lorraine.
A private family service will take place at a future date.

Roy as a valued colleague as my area counsellor in various schools in Richmond school district.
He had great listening skills and always had great counsel when there were issues I had to deal with as a principal.
He saw me through many challenging days and I was always glad he was there.
I am sorry for your loss.
His wad a life well lived!

Dear Margot, I was saddened to hear that your love has passed. I feel your pain. I will miss the sound of Roy´s voice on the sunny summer days.
