William D. URDEA

URDEA, William D. "Don" August 24, 1932 - March 1, 2017 Don was born in Vancouver, BC and passed away on March 1, 2017 after suffering from cancer for 6 years and 8 months. He was predeceased by his father John (a World War I Veteran); mother Mary; brother John; sister Diane; and granddaughter Brandee. Cherished by his partner Ethel; son Don (Karen); daughters Karen (Bill), Susan (Ross); 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and they were very special to him. Don was a glazer and prior to his retirement owned Lions Gate Glass & Screens with his son Don. During retirement he enjoyed many cruises and trips as well as volunteering at the Social Dances at Kiwanis Lynn Manor, West Vancouver Seniors Activity Centre and North Vancouver Community Policing. As a Founding Member of the North Shore Search & Rescue, the affiliations he made were very dear to him. No funeral by request. Special thanks for the dedicated and excellent care to: Drs. Klimo, Bains, Shasha, Chen, Honeyman, Haniak, Kirker, Lahka, Lewis, Mutat; Dr. R. Ma and team at BC Cancer Agency; also the wonderful caring nurses and volunteers at the Oncology Department, Lions Gate Hospital. Flowers gratefully declined.
