Betty Larish Obituary

Betty Pearl Larish passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 88 years of age in Calgary AB with her daughter Giselle by her side. She was born September 5, 1934 in Oshawa, Ontario.
She is survived by her daughters Giselle Larish (Calgary AB) and Monica Soulabaille (Oakville ON), her granddaughter Maria, her son-in-law Jean Luc and her sister Joan Coutts (Oshawa ON). She is predeceased by her husband Erhard, parents Leon Edward Parks and Ina Pearl Parks and siblings Lawson and Stanley.
Betty was interred beside her husband at Mount Lawn cemetery in Whitby ON, on November 1, 2022 with Giselle, Monica, Maria and Jean Luc attending in a quiet tribute to her. In lieu of flowers, Betty asked for donations to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.
Betty had a long career as an elementary school teacher in Brooklin, ON. While she didn't love flying, she travelled extensively around the world. After retirement she preferred to jump on a train to visit family no matter where life had planted them at the time. She had a good life, filled with the simple pleasures of jigsaw puzzles, gardening and shopping. She brought love and kindness to her family and remains an integral part of who we are individually and as a family. She will forever be in our hearts and our thoughts.

My deepest condolences Giselle and Monica for the passing of your mom. I have such fond memories of her as a teacher and of walking with you all back up the hill on Vipond Avenue at lunch and after school. Your mom was an inspiration teacher who touched many young lives in such a positive way. Remember the good times with her and smile when you think of her. Leslie McCartney

Hi Giselle n Monica, my sympathy after your mom´s passing. I have memories of your mom, with a warm smile and a sense being a thoughtful person but that´s through the eyes of a ten yr old looking back 50+ yrs. I don´t think I was in her class at Meadowcrest but we were in the same subdivision, walking distance to school.
God bless, Kit Greaves

I am very sorry to read of the passing of your Mom.
We too lost our Mom this year. She still lived in the same house on Torian Ave.

On behave of the Bojda family, I'm sending our sincerest and warmest condolences. Our families did share time together in my younger years. Life got busy and our time together became less but Gieselle and Monica, I will always remember your lovely Mom, your father, you both in your home on Ferguson Ave.

May your memories of your Mother bring you comfort in the days ahead.
