Catherine FRAME Obituary

1946 - 2021 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Catherine on May 4, 2021, aged 74, following a lengthy illness. Catherine passed away peacefully at her home in Uxbridge, with her loving son, Mervyn, and his wife, Kate, by her side. Catherine also had the pleasure and unwavering support of her daughter-in-law Mindy throughout the week preceding her passing. In addition to her son and daughter-in-law Kate, Catherine is survived by her two granddaughters, Charlotte and Everleigh; her brother Niall and his wife Niam; Clifford's children, Wendy, Kathleen, Jamie, Clifford, Geordie, and Cameron; and her many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Catherine was born to Kathleen and David Graham in Dublin, Ireland, and was raised in nearby county Kildare, along with her six siblings. Her father, David, passed when Catherine was only eighteen years old. As the eldest of her siblings, Catherine took up the void left by her late father and helped her mother take care of their family home in Kildare and care for her younger siblings. Catherine carried this role as caregiver throughout her life. She met her husband Clifford while they were both working in Dublin, and later married in Toronto on December 27, 1982. In more ways than not, Catherine was the cornerstone of Clifford's numerous business ventures over the years, particularly as an unsung partner and colleague on whom he often depended, but particularly as his emotional support when times were at their toughest. More than anything, however, Catherine was a profoundly devoted and loving mother to their son, Mervyn, who they raised in Toronto, and later at their family farm in Uxbridge. She was a true Irish mother; unreservedly loving and defensive of her son, apt to always do his laundry even into his 20s, and inclined to keep a wooden spoon on hand for those occasions when her son would futilely test her resolve. To this day, Mervyn looks up to his mother as a beacon of strength, of commitment to family, and a profound source of compassion, selflessness, and love. As Catherine believed, to live in the hearts of those we leave behind is not to die. You will always be with us, Mum. We love you. Catherine was laid to rest alongside Clifford in Uxbridge Cemetery; the burial service will be live-streamed through the Funeral Home website on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. If desired, donations to Operation Eyesight Canada, which Catherine supported since her earliest days in Canada, are welcome in lieu of flowers. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Low & Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Box 698, Port Perry L9L 1A6 (905-985-7331). Online condolences can be made at www.lowandlow.ca
