Cathy Dilling Obituary
Jan 27,1931 - May 6, 2023
We called her Cath, Cathy, mom, mother, grandma, nurse Dilling, the understated dog whisperer and best friend. Our hearts are broken by the loss of her and full from the life she gave all of us. Most of us shrink over our life time, not Cath she was always tall and very cool. She never shrank from anything whether it was sailing, skiing, nursing, bridge, meals on wheels, driving the 401 and Don Valley with the pedal to the metal trying to get to a 315 movie with Bev and Jan, gardening at her lovely home on Scugog, cooking hundreds of family dinners, traveling the world with her sidekick Nancy and sister-in-law Catherine, swimming and paddling at Mary Lake and Lake Scugog and out west doing a Thelma and Louise with Joey, there were no limits to her. We are blessed with the larger than life memory of her. She moved with grace to Bowmanville Creek retirement community in 2019, loved her couch and never once ever ever ever complained. She was and will continue to be a force in our lives and for this we are so thankful. She was 72, well actually 92 but she is the definition of 92 is the new 72. Beloved wife to Wallace Dilling (predeceased) Mother to Jo Anne (Dave), Bill, John (Patrick), and Doug (Janice).
Grandma to Mike (Sayumi), Alex, and Hayden (Rachel). Great-grandma to Luna (Mike and Sayumi). Sister-in-law to Catherine (John) Ford. Brother-in-law to Gary (Ange) Dilling. Sister to Robin (Sally) and Bill (Faith) Adair. And many loving extended family members and friends.
We will miss her humour, her directness, her adventurous spirit and her walk (she was tall, had long strides and was always a block ahead of everyone)
Rest peacefully Cath. You earned it!
This beautiful person, Cath to most of us, sadly passed away this weekend. We will love her always
