Jean Lois Dingley

It is with great sorrow that the family of Jean Dingley, age 92, announces her passing on December 21, 2020 peacefully at ThortonView Long Term Care. Cherished wife of the late Bertram Joseph Dingley. Loving mother of Laura (Fred Hardy), Terri (Ken Hoy), and Tracy (Mike Patterson). Adoring grandmother to Ryan, Amanda, Jennifer, Jacqueline, Jessica, and Bryce. Jean was a loving and caring person with an incredible zest for life. She had a wonderful laugh that created joy for everyone she knew. Jean met her lifelong love Bert in Oshawa in 1946 at the dance hall by the lake. She enjoyed many years of bowling and curling. She also was fond of her years working at General Motors in the sewing room. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Special thanks to the staff at Thorntonview for their care and support of our Mother. They called her their "Little Jeannie in a bottle". To honour this lovely lady there will be a service and celebration of life arranged in the future once Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted. If desired, donations in honour of Jean can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region or Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
