Joyce Pamela DENSHAM

1926 - 2022

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa October 10, 2022, in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Francis Sydney Densham. Dear mother of Melvin (Audrey) and Alan (Priscilla). Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Ryan (Sophie), Christopher (Alicia), Julie (Brendan), and Michael (Jenny), and great-grandchildren Stella, James, Brielle, Sydney, Makenna, Mikayla, and Jackson. Survived by her loving sister-in-law Marie Thompson. Joyce will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Joyce was born on October 6, 1926, in Surrey, England. She met her late husband Frank in England during World War II and subsequently married in 1945. Frank returned home to Canada and Joyce followed shortly thereafter as a war bride, travelling on the ship Aquitania. Joyce arrived at Pier 21 in Halifax Harbour, she boarded a train to Oshawa to re-unite with Frank and settle in Oshawa to raise their family. Joyce enjoyed a successful retail career at Eaton's Oshawa climbing the ladder to management. In her retirement, she became a volunteer at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in the gift shop. Joyce became their fashion and giftware buyer as well as serving for two years on the Board of Directors for Lakeridge Health Oshawa Auxiliary. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses on G6 and F4 for the wonderful care they gave Joyce. A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, June 17, 2023, with family and friends, further details to follow closer to the event date.
