Lea VALLEAU Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lea Valleau on April 4, 2023. Lea was a devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, "mammie," sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed tremendously by daughters Marteen and Michelle, son-in-law Jeff, granddaughter Sienna and by many friends and family members.
Lea was born in 1950 and spent her formative years in Lindsay, Ontario. As the second youngest of six children, Lea enjoyed kinship and affection from siblings and the support of a large, caring family. Upon graduation from secondary school, Lea went to work for the provincial government, initially for the Ministry of Natural Resources & Forestry and later for the Ontario Property Assessment Corporation where she remained until the end of her tenure thirty years later. In 1970, Lea married the love of her life, Wayne Valleau (deceased 2012) and eventually welcomed the role of motherhood - a role well suited to her nurturing, loving and patient nature.
After retirement, Lea discovered a passion for golfing as well as accumulating stamps on her passport - a testimony to her affinity for travel and adventure. When at home, Lea could be found tending to her gardens, tackling a home improvement project, entertaining friends and family, or enjoying the companionship of her beloved dog.
For those fortunate to have known Lea or been loved by her would all agree, Lea's external beauty was eclipsed only by a radiant internal beauty, and she will be remembered forever as a kind, caring, compassionate and generous woman.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Lea Valleau at Mount Lawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on April 12th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial service will be held April 13th at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to SickKids Foundation or Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.
