Lloyd Pigden Obituary

Lloyd Alic Pigden passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at Hastings Manor Belleville, on December 7, 2020 at the age of 91. Predeceased by his parents Ernest Pigden and Susie Pigden (nee Parm). Former husband to Terry Pigden (nee Cronin). Loving brother to Bev Boyce (Gerry). Cherished father of Susan Markle (Doug), Debbie Lambert (Dan), Gail McDougall, George Pigden (Tracy), Scott Pigden, and Andrew Pigden (Susan). Cherished grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Predeceased by sister Phyllis and brothers Norman and Howard. Also will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Lloyd was born and raised in Belleville Ontario, then moved to Oshawa to begin his 35 year career with General Motors in Oshawa and then went on to dabble in Real Estate. Lloyd was an active member of St. Luke's Presbyterian Church in Oshawa where he sat on the Board of Managers for many years. Lloyd was a long time member of The Kinsmen Club of Oshawa where he held the positions of President, District 8 Secretary and then given the honour of becoming a lifetime member. Lloyd served one term on the Oshawa City Council as an Alderman and was a staunch Conservative Party member. Lloyd was also a life member of the Masons. Lloyd enjoyed travel, camping, boating and his favourite sports teams the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Argonauts. To be honest, Lloyd was game for anything and loved life. Our family is extremely grateful to the Hastings Manor Staff for the care and love they have shown our Dad. Gone but not forgotten. Arrangements entrusted to the Burke Funeral Home, 150 Church St. Belleville. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 2:00 pm with visitation 1hr prior to service. In lieu of flowers donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
