It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Louise Anne Gilbert. She passed away peacefully at Bay Ridges LTC on Wednesday February 9th, 2022 in her 72nd year. She was a loving wife to Peter of 51 years. Beloved mother of Jeff (Nicole) and Natalie (Adam) and adored Grammie of Emmersyn, Parker, Mikale, Mckenna and Marcus. She is survived by her Mom, Hilda Cyr and predeceased by her father, Zoel Cyr. Louise was the eldest sister to Pauline (Mike), Pierre (Kathy), Charlie (Jolene) and Lynn (James). A dear sister-in-law to Peggy (Brian), Leslie (Joe), Wendy (David), Judy (Bruce) and the late Michael Gilbert. She will be forever missed by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be remembered fondly by extended family and friends. Louise dedicated her life to helping others. She was a registered nurse working in Long Term Care and Dentistry. Louise was an Educational Assistant with the Durham Catholic District School Board specializing as a certified Braillist and worked with many students with special needs for over 15 years. In her spare time, Louise taught classes in nursing at George Brown College. She was a board member with the Pickering Figure Skating Club and the Rose of Durham, actively dedicating her time and energy. Louise loved her family and friends more than anything and always did everything she could to ensure they were taken care of. She loved to knit and sew and she created many sweaters, outfits, costumes and bears with her talent. She will be missed dearly by all. The family would like to thank everyone at Bay Ridges LTC for all the love and support they gave Louise over the last few years. A Celebration of Life will take place for family and friends in May. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family. For on-line condolences or to make a memorial donation, please visit
