On Sunday, April 18, 2021, Marlene Harness née Pearce, loving wife to John Harness, mother to Kayla (Josh) and Kara (Eric) went to be with Jesus at the age of 60. She leaves behind two beautiful grandkids Rylee and Bradley, as well as her sister Peggy Campbell and brother Jack (Nancy) Pearce, and several nieces and nephews. Marlene was born May 4, 1960 in Oshawa, Ontario to Beverley and Joan (Kyle) Pearce. Marlene worked as an auditor in General Motors for 37 years. On February 14, 1992 she married the love of her life, John Harness, at Liberty Church in Bowmanville, Ontario, where they raised their two beautiful daughters. Marlene loved people, and she loved leading them to Jesus. She always made sure everyone felt welcomed and valued. She also had a passion for decorating and loved to make any space beautiful. She was known for her humour, her infectious smile, and her love for Jesus. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and joy. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home Ltd. in New Hamburg at 1 p.m. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home. There will be a livestream available for those who would like to celebrate the life of Marlene. Following the funeral service interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg.
