Olwen Jean WATSON

Passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 26, 2022, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of David for 64 years, mother to Michele (favourite son-in-law Jody), predeceased by her dear son Paul. Loving Nana to Noelle, Adrian, and Emma. Aunt to Liz, Linda, Caroline and the late Gillian and Marilyn. Predeceased by her siblings: Pearl, Daphne and Glynn. Cherished by family and friends in Canada and in England. Olwen was a generous and caring person and a friend to many. A dedicated volunteer with Community Care Durham for many years. She led an adventurous life, immigrating to Canada from Ebley, England in her early 20s and enjoyed many travels over the years with her husband, family, and friends. She enjoyed music, reading and spending time with the family. Thank you to Dodie and Shamini on the Palliative team for their care and compassion. A special thanks to Mabel who brought much needed rays of sunshine every day. Visitation will be held at W.C. Town Funeral Chapel, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 10 - 11 a.m. followed immediately by her memorial service in the funeral home's chapel at 11 a.m. Donations in Olwen's memory would be appreciated to Community Care Durham, St. Vincent de Paul (Durham), or Durham Outlook (St. Vincent Pallotti's Kitchen) and condolences may be expressed online at wctownfuneralchapel.com.
