Patricia CORLETT Obituary

September 5, 1937 - February 20, 2022
The family of Patricia Corlett (nee Balatti) of Port Perry are devastated to announce her passing, after a very brief illness, at the age of 84. Patricia is predeceased by her adoring husband of 48 years, William Corlett, and leaves her close friend Ron Pue to mourn her passing. Patricia was the cherished mother of Allison Cairns (Martin), Jennifer Miles (John) and Andrea Corlett (Richard). She was an immensely proud and doting Nona to Hayley (David), Ryan (Jackie), Simon, Jonah (Sheena), Rachael, Laura, Tyler, and Isabella. Patricia is survived by her loving sisters Bernadette Hirtle (Bruce) and Christina Boskovich (Joe) and was a much-loved aunt to her many nieces and nephews and their families. To her three daughters, Pat was a rock who always provided unconditional love and support, and a practical perspective when they needed it most. She will be lovingly remembered and missed forever. A strong, independent woman, Pat worked as a nurse and health specialist for many years in service to the protection and well-being of vulnerable children and families in Toronto. She travelled extensively throughout her life, and visited India and Tanzania as part of her volunteer work with Sleeping Children Around the World. Soon after the passing of her beloved husband, Bill, Patricia found a way to bring solace to others through her work as a grief counsellor in Durham Region. Patricia loved life and enjoyed a large circle of friends in Port Perry, Toronto, Naples, Florida, and around the world.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1710 Scugog Street (Hwy 7A) in Port Perry, ON, L9L 1E2 on Thursday, February 24, at 10:30 a.m. In memory of Patricia, memorial donations may be made to VON Durham Hospice Services through the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171). Pat and Bill, moved into their Canterbury home the same month as we did, 25 years ago, and together with our shared next door neighbours, Pat and Jack Kalbfleisch we all became friends. When Pat was around, there was always laughter, and wit. She was the most generous and thoughtful person. We admired her vitality as she continued to live her life to the fullest after Bill's death. To say we are shocked and saddened by her death, is an understatement. Rest in Peace Pat, you will be dearly missed.
