Pat was predeceased by her devoted husband of 69 years Benjamin "Bob" Salmers, her parents James and Grace Wilson and her siblings Grace, Margaret and Jim. She will be deeply missed by her sister Ruth Maracle; her sons Brian (Carol), Blake (Sandy), Chris (Leslie) and Greg; her grandchildren Amy, Cameron, Daniel, Eric (Trish) and Kathryn (Jamie); her great-granddaughter Elle Marie, her nieces, nephew and Marlene Salmers.
Pat was born in Bowmanville, Ontario and lived in Oshawa, Ontario. She worked at the Oshawa Times as a proof-reader where she met her husband, Bob. When her sons attended Sunset Heights School, Pat was active in the Home and School Association. She was later involved in scouting when her sons joined the local troop. While raising four active boys, she worked in the coat department at the Oshawa Eaton's. Pat loved the "Sewing Club" which was formed during WWII. She enjoyed the club "meetings" for 60 years as well as the club's family events.
Pat will be remembered for her perpetual sunny disposition and her love of reading, music, singing and travel. She and Bob spent many happy hours enjoying their lovely garden and feeding various birds. They were both long time active members of Knox Presbyterian Church.
Our family wishes to thank Pat's caregiver, Ever, for her loving care, compassion, advocacy and dedication on behalf of our mother. We would like to express our appreciation to the Hillsdale recreation staff who facilitated regular Zoom calls.
Donations in Pat's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Durham Region would be appreciated by the family.
