Robert George Bickle

Bob passed away peacefully at home in his 89th year with his wife and children by his side. Devoted husband of Shirley (Bate) for 67 years. Loving father of Diane, Kathy, Sharon (Mark Doyle), Bob (Sherri Souci), and Bruce (passed). Proud grandfather of John Hicks (Jatinder), Jennifer Hicks (Nic Oliver), Adam Hicks (passed), Joshua Lehman (Julie DeVries), Brandon Caruana, Matt Caruana (Stacey), Amanda Gibson (Tyler), Kathy Keeney (Lance), Shawn Bickle (Missy Bragg), and Bobby Bickle. Great-grandfather of Bailey, Keaton, Colton, Isla, Abby, Chase, and Teddy. Bob is predeceased by his parents Howard Bickle and Stella Bickle. Beloved brother of William, Raymond (passed), John, Debbie, Terri, David, and Brian. As a young man, Bob enlisted in the Army and proudly served in the Korean War. He worked at General Motors of Canada for 35 years until his retirement. Bob was an avid golfer and a talented woodworker who enjoyed making furniture for his family and friends. He loved travelling with Shirley, often taking one or two of his grandchildren with them. Bob remained active in the Korean Veterans Association locally, even travelling back to Korea through Veterans Affairs Canada. He was rightfully proud of his service and would have been so pleased to know he left his home draped in the Canadian flag under the salute of an officer. Bob lived a full and happy life. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially his family who he always placed first. Special thank you to Veterans Affairs Canada. Interment will be Private to the Immediate Family.
