Robert COSTELLO Obituary

September 28, 1940 - August 29, 2022
Bob passed peacefully after a brief illness at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre surrounded by the love of his family. Cherished husband of Karen for 44 years. Beloved father of Kaitlin (Ryan) and Kyle (Jesse). Proud & loving grandfather of Colton and Callum. Loving brother to Richard and Dian. Sadly missed by all his fur babies. A lover of the great outdoors, Bob's yearly fishing trip to the French River was the highlight of the summer. He began this yearly trip in his 20's and continued into his 70's, willingly sharing the adventure with friends and family. Green Island was his paradise. Bob's other interest was curling. Beginning in the 1970's and retiring from the sport in 2017, he was an active member of the Whitby Curling Club for many years.

Bob's greatest accomplishment were his children, Kaitlin and Kyle. Always wanting to give them a better life than what he had. He was extremely proud of all their accomplishments from childhood and onwards. They were always on his mind and there for them at the drop of a hat. He was their "hero"

The family would like to thank friends and family for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. There are no words to describe how thankful we are for your caring and generosity.

Thank you to the incredible nursing staff on 4B for the exemplary care and compassion shown to Bob and the family.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial in Bob's honour will be held at a later date.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Mr.Costello was absolutely great. While it was the family as a whole that welcomed me into what came to be a second home to me for many years of my life, Mr.Costello was a such a big part of that.
His big smile greeting you as soon as you´d come through the door, taking time to connect with you by asking questions - which I have to say was unique to Robert, not many other dads did that and definitely not with the same level of love. He made me feel welcome in a way that wasn´t just in his home, but in his family.

He will never be forgotten.

Sending so much love to Mr.Costello and his beautiful family.

We are so sorry for your loss...

Growing up if I wasn't at home, I was almost always at the Costello's. Mr. And Mrs. C always made me feel at home, loved and safe. I remember going skiing together at Big Tupper and that damn suburban got a flat tire on the way home. Mr.C spent hours in the freezing cold, changing the tire and ended up with frost bite on his fingers. A true hero. He loved his family dearly and did everything to make sure they were taken care of.
We will miss you Mr. C.

Bob was a dear friend , a friend who would always be there for us and willing to help. His love of animals was shown on many occasions through the care he gave to our beloved Bailey and Brandi. He always had a treat in his pocket for them!
We will miss him dearly. He was such a great husband , father, grandfather and friend.
Rest In Peace Bob
We will always love you. You have a place in our hearts.
