it was always a pleasure to come visit and care for walter. he left a lasting impression on me. he always made me laugh. he was never short of a joke and smile. i enjoyed listening to his stories of his past. his love for his beautiful wife. how he met her the fun they had and the love for his children. his life when he was younger and how much of a terror he was. lol he always was entertaining in his stories and i feel bad because he gave me so much and all i could do was wash his back and make sure he was safe and happy. what really impresses me about him is his passion for standing up and speaking the truth about so many injustices. he was courageous, smart and cared for people. back in march i had taken a leave of absence from my job as a p.s.w. then in may as i sat at home i watched my neighbour take down the most beautiful red maple in her backyard. i was appalled. this tree was so old and so huge it offered a shaded yard to three backyards. i cried seeing this tree being chopped apart. the next day i went out and collected about thirty seeds that had fallen from that tree. they were strewn all over the road. i said to myself this tree will live on. i have planted the seeds and now have about six small trees planted. i did this without knowing what happened with walter. i find it strange. at any rate l have named them all walter. i will never forget your father. praying for all of you. melinda.
