It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Barbara Patricia McCoy, nee Rogers, on May 22, 2022, in Virden, MB.
Barbara is predeceased by her parents and her daughter Annette. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Ray McCoy; her daughters Leah Strong, and Sheri Decock (Michael); her brother Don (Terrol); her sister Judy; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She travelled a lot with her job as a semi driver, and the stories she told us when she would come home. Whether it was the awful accidents she witnessed, driving the ice roads up north, bringing portable morgues to New York during 9/11, or pictures of tornado damage in Tornado Alley. She loved it.
It was not always good, but she made the best of what she knew. Lived in a few places, all over southern Manitoba and some in Alberta. She made some great life-long lasting friendships along the way.
In the end, it was hard breathing, and it took a major toll on her body. Her spirit was always strong, but her body could not take it anymore.
We are very happy family was able to come out and say their goodbyes the day before. We made her laugh a bit that evening. It was nice to see her blue eyes one more time.
God, she left way too soon…but at least she is with her parents and her daughter Annette, who left us almost three years ago.
Goodbye, but most defiantly not farewell, as we will see you again.
