Ellis Elliot Obituary
ELLIOTT, Ellis Lotridge
January 22, 1933 - January 16, 2022
Born to Albert & Gladys Elliot in Imperial, Saskatchewan. We thought our love could keep you with us, but God must have needed you more. My heart went with you when you were taken out the door.
Left to cherish fond memories of Ellis are his wife, Florence of 65 years; sons Darrell (Diane), and Hal (Marilyn); grandsons Michael, and Marty (Samantha); granddaughters Carrie (Matt) Tapp, Tracy (Travis) Landels, and Kendra; great-grandchildren Dylan and Arya Tapp, Peyton and Avery Landels, Jules Letain, and Szeth Elliott. He is survived by brother Barry Elliott; sister Verna Clary; and many nephews and nieces.
Predeceased by parents Albert & Gladys, daughter Gladys, and siblings Sharon Bushko, Arlene Lucyk, Keith Elliott, and Beverly Moffat.
Many years of Ellis' life were spent cattle and grain farming. In 1971, Ellis & Florence moved their family from Balcarres, Saskatchewan to the farm near Cromer. The rural community welcomed them, and great friends were made with neighbours and through square dancing with the Cromer Clippers. Ellis always had a love for draft horses which he used for daily chores up until retirement. Upon retirement from the farm, Ellis & Florence bought a house and moved into Virden in 2001. He continued his active lifestyle and could be found curling, golfing, watering town flower beds, and walking for coffee once or twice daily. Sunday was the day to relax and attend church. You could find Ellis in the stands of every 4-H show watching his three granddaughters. He was also a Virden Fair supporter with his love for draft horses. He enjoyed building puzzles, stoking his wood stove, and heading out to help at the farm when he was needed.
We will surely miss your pokes and prods and even your rough demeanour, but we know you were soft-hearted. Pure joy could be seen in your eyes as you watched your great-grandchildren grow over the last eight years.
