Jim was born in Virden, Manitoba to George and Olive Mason on March 27, 1959, and passed away peacefully at home at the age of 65 surrounded by family and friends on April 20, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.
He started his career with Higginbotham Electric and eventually joined Enbridge where he worked for 33 years. He was posted in various locations such as Norman Wells, Fort Simpson, Regina and Glenavon, Hardisty, and finally finishing his career in Sherwood Park, Alberta. He was so dedicated and proud to work for Enbridge, it was his "second home and family." He made many lifelong friends along the way.
During this time, Jim raised three children that he was extremely proud of and loved dearly. They blessed Jim with eight beautiful grandchildren that he adored. He then met his wife Cyndy while posted in Hardisty, and they were married in 2005. Together they enjoyed riding motorcycles, riding in the Chevelle, tending to their yard, and sharing time together on the deck with their cat Boo. They loved just spending time with one another.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Cyndy and cat Boo, daughters Jamie (Drew) Wilkinson, Jackie (Eric) Nykoluk, and son Jessie (Julie) Mason; grandchildren Sophie, Evan, and Addison Nykoluk, Ava, Mason, and Will Wilkinson, and Lee and Luke Mason. Sister Maggie (Clay) Dryden, Georgie Sullivan, and brother Bruce Mason. Nieces and Nephews Logan and Chelsey Teers, Avaya and Ryder Link, Mike and Marshall Dryden, Brock and Casey Ludwig, and Keesha Sullivan.
Jim was predeceased by his parents George and Olive Mason, Brother John Mason, and mother-in-law Sheila Link.
