BELTZ, John Garry "Buck"

November 8, 1944 - November 20, 2021

John Garry Beltz "Buck" was born on November 8, 1944, in Lacombe, Alberta and was the oldest son of Paul & Annie Beltz.

After living in Lacombe Buck and his family moved to Reston, Manitoba and then settled in Virden, Manitoba for the remainder of his life.

Buck had various jobs from delivering papers, working in the local hardware store, delivering milk and eventually at S&S Mercury where he started his career in the auto body trade. In 1972 Buck purchased Virden Auto body where he enjoyed working with his dedicated long-term staff and customers until his retirement in 2004.

Buck met his wife Heather at a dance in Elkhorn, Manitoba in 1966 and married on September 21, 1968. Together they raised two boys, Brent, and Todd. Buck loved spending time with his sons and five grandchildren Joshua, Taylor, Jessica, Teyanna, and Zackary as well as his extended family and friends.

Buck was adventurous and loved snowmobiling, golfing, fishing, boating, hiking, bird watching at the lake as well as serving his community through the fire department and numerous volunteer committees.

Buck was a brain tumour survivor from the year 2008 until his demise. Buck passed away November 20, 2021, of kidney failure and complications. Buck is predeceased by his parents Paul & Annie Beltz, brother Wayne Beltz; nephews Sheldon, and Rob Beltz; mother and father-in-law Bill & Margaret Bews, sister and brother-in-law Kay & Cliff Gordon, sister and brother-in-law Gary & Jean Bews. Buck will be loving missed by wife Heather; son Brent and his wife Heather, children Joshua, Jessica, and Zackary; son Todd and his wife Jennifer, children Taylor, and Teyanna; brother Don and wife Marilyn, sister and brother-in-law Jean & Steve Hobbs, and numerous nieces, nephews that held a special place in his heart. Buck had many extended family and friends that will miss him at the lake and around the community.
