1945 - 2023
Ken Harder passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Estevan, SK at the age of 77 years. Ken was born on May 16, 1945 in Rush Lake, SK to Frank and Theresa Harder. Ken married Rose Lanti on May 14, 1977 and they raised 2 children in Estevan, SK
.Ken was a "jack of all trades". He was a mechanic, carpenter (helping build houses), night watchman at the Derrick Hotel, truck driver with Dowel Schlumberger and had a career with Prairie Mud as an oilfield dispatcher. Some of his favorite past times included fishing, camping, putzing around, and a master tinckerer just like his dad Frank. Ken was always willing to lend a hand, he will always be remembered for having a real servant's heart and was always generous and affectionate to feeding stray cats. Ken always had a twinkle in his eyes and a smirk on his face, an off handed remark, a wonderful sense of humour and a sly grin.
Ken is lovingly remembered by his
wife of 45 years , Rose (nee Lanti); son Bryan (Kristen) Harder and
daughter Anita (Eric) Karmark;
grandchildren , Bryla Fornwald, Brandon and Kayden Harder, Andrew, Jonathan and Matthew Karmark. Ken is also survived by his
siblings , Les (Idella), Barbara (Harold), Rodney (Sherry), Keith (Pat) and Diane (Jeff) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Theresa (nee Wagner) Harder.
The Funeral Service for Ken was held on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Church of God, Estevan, SK at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Walter Engel officiating. Everyone was welcome to join the family following the service for the luncheon in the parish hall. Interment will take place at a later date at Souris Valley Memorial Gardens, Estevan, SK.
