Matt Ehrmantraut Obituary

Matt Ehrmantraut 1933 - 2021 It is with great sorrow that the family wishes to announce that Matt Ehrmantraut, late of Estevan, SK passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the age of 88 years. Matt was predeceased by his parents, Anton and Mary Ehrmantraut; infant sister Gertrude; brother George; granddaughter Carly Ehrmantraut and brothers-in-law Martin Bonokoski and Bert Dreher. Matt will be forever missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Bette; children, Chris (Anita) their children Curtis, Cara (Brian) Murray and their children, Mylo and Cohen; Sharon (Barrie) Wock; Bruce (Michelle) and children Amanda and Logan; Brenda (Kevin) Wallewein and children Alyssa, Kelsey (Owen) Emde and their children, Dawson and Emryn, Lucas and Olivia; Lorna (Grant) Nelson; Laura (Pete) Heck and Tracey (Jason Michel) Wock and children Riley and Leah. Matt will be missed by sisters, Marie Bonokoski, Fran Dreher and Irene (Earl) Craig; brother Lawrence (Janet) Ehrmantraut and sister-in-law Rose Ehrmantraut as well as numerous extended family and friends. When Matt was in his 20's he moved to Regina to work for Allis Chalmers. While working in Regina he met Bette and they married August 12, 1961. The union blessed them with seven children. In 1964 the family moved to Torquay where he and his brother George took over their Dad's business, Torquay Garage & Machine. In 1975 they closed the Torquay business and moved to Estevan where Matt joined George in partnership at Ehrmantraut Bros. Farm Equipment. Matt and George sold Ehrmantraut Bros. in the 1980?s, and after that he spent his days helping Bette in the Lottery Booth in the mall where he loved visiting with people. Dad could fix anything - no need to pay anyone! He kept EVERYTHING! He could go find you a receipt for something he bought in the 1960's! Matt loved playing cards, and loved playing pranks, and got a good laugh if he scared someone. Dad lived a very active life up until a year ago when his health started to deteriorate. Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist RC Church, Estevan with Rev. Sathiadas Antony presiding. Interment took place at the Estevan City Cemetery.
