John William "Jack" McKENNA

Peacefully passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton on Friday, January 29, 2021 at the age of 84. Loving father and grandfather of Leeann Paul and her sons Aaron and David, Dennis and Carol McKenna and their eight children, Jackie McKenna, and Pat McKenna. Dear brother of †Marie (†Ray), Niece (†Eddy), Mag (†Karl), Nell (†Joe), †Mike (Helen), Ken (†Barb), Pat (Gerry), †Joan (Glen), Joe (Donna), Joyce, Jim, Bob, †Shirley, Gerald, †Tom and †Anna May. He will be missed by many nephews and nieces. Jack retired from Stelco No. 2 Rod Mill after 40 years of service. Jack was a dedicated volunteer at Joseph Brant Hospital for over 8 years. He served as an usher at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church and helped with building Marian Hall. He was a longtime member of the Waterdown Legion Branch 551, and especially enjoyed many dances over the years. Jack lived at the Freelton Lions Villa and proudly cut the grass and helped keep the Villa maintained. Private cremation has taken place. Due to the pandemic restrictions no visitation will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. If desired, as expressions of sympathy a donation in Jack's memory to St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. I’m sorry Leeann about the passing of your father my uncle Jack, there must be some comfort knowing that you were always there for him. There must be one heck of a corn roast going on in heaven .
