Pacifico Valeriote Obituary

September 16, 1919 - December 7, 2021.
Pacifico (Puss) Valeriote passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the age of 102 with his family by his side. Beloved husband of the late Elsa (Tessaro) Valeriote (2005). Loving father of the late Peter (Gwen), Matthew (Theresa Harper) of Dundas, Elisabeth (Neil Heebner) of Guelph, and Sandra Valeriote of Kitchener. Loved grandfather of Andrea and Nicholas (Sarah Currie) Valeriote; Jonathan (Kelsey Stemmler) and Bill (Malaika) Valeriote; Anthony and Mark Heebner; Christopher and Valerie (Jordan
Horan) Wissmach. Great grandfather of Robert, Thomas, and Duke. Pacifico will be missed by Eric Kirkwood, and by Steven Kirkwood and Clara Fonte and their son Norman. Pacifico is survived by his sister Anna Bordignon of Kitchener, one of his 15 siblings.

A WWII Veteran, Flight Sergeant Valeriote served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Radar Technician. He was stationed in England, Scotland, Algeria, Tunisia, and Italy. He made many life-long friends during the war and over the years, enjoyed going overseas to attend several reunions. Pacifico was a long-time member of Guelph's Royal Canadian Legion.

Pacifico led a long and fulfilling life and touched the hearts of many people. He was one of the five founding fathers and a lifetime member of the Guelph Amateur Radio Club (call sign VE3 DSC, SK), a founding member of the Italian Canadian Club of Guelph, and as a successful entrepreneur, provided employment to scores of people in the community.

Pacifico was loved and will be remembered very fondly by his extended family, including his many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and special lifelong friends (The Boys) and he enjoyed gathering with them to celebrate life. He was a happy, gentle, generous, honest, and loving man. With his sense of humour, he brought a smile and a laugh to everyone.

The family would like to thank the excellent staff of Riverside Glen for the exceptional care and attention that they provided to Pacifico. The family is also extremely grateful to Angie Raetson, for her dedicated, loving support of him over many years. The family extends a very special thank you to John Valeriote and Dennis Weiler for their love, friendship and for being his trusted advisors.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Basilica of our Lady, 28 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Tuesday, December 28 at
10:30 am. To attend the Memorial Mass, please RSVP on the funeral home website or by calling the funeral home at 519-822-4731.
