Susan JOHNSTONE Obituary
JOHNSTONE, Susan Elizabeth RN, BA, MEd Passed away peacefully, in her 74th year on Friday, December 6, 2019 with her brother Jim Johnstone at her bedside, at St. Joseph's Health Centre, Guelph. Susan will be remembered by her beloved brother Jim Johnstone and his wife Kathy; nieces and nephews Carolyn, James (Jr), Andrea, Christine and Michael; her first cousin Deb Cosford (Brooks, Alberta), great-aunt Mary Levers and second cousins Jean Bacon and Ann Atchison all of Saskatoon. Daughter of the late Elizabeth (nee Cosford) Johnstone (1994) and John Brown Johnstone (1994). Much loved niece of the late Doris E. Cosford (1982) and Helen J. Cosford (1990). Susan graduated from the Osler School of Nursing (1969) and caringly applied her profession at the Sick Children's Hospital of Toronto followed by The King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, Bermuda and then back home to Guelph at St. Joseph's Hospital. Susan then became a Professor of Nursing at Conestoga College, Kitchener, where she was awarded the prestigious Aubrey Hagar Award for excellence in teaching, 1989. A special thank you to the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Joseph's and her close friend Lois Grant, London. The Celebration of Life will be held at the GILBERT MCINTYRE AND SON FUNERAL HOME , 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, at a future date which will be published on the funeral home's website. Donations to The St. Joseph's Health Center Foundation or The Kortright Presbyterian Church would be greatly appreciated.
