Virginio "Vic" BENDO

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Virginio Bendo on January 4, 2023 at the age of 90 after a brief illness. Loving husband to the late Pauline Bendo (Dawe) for 56 years. Beloved father to Bruce Bendo (Laurie) and Denise Fuoco. Proud Papa of Shawn Bendo (Stephanie) and Logan Bendo (Courtney). Dear brother of Albino Bendo (Lucia), brother-in-law to Ghislainer Mazzon in Italy. Predeceased by parents Ettore Bendo and Genoveffa Turcato, brother Isidoro Savino Bendo, sister Fiorina Iolanda Bendo, sister Angela Bendo and son-in-law Rick Fuoco. Will be fondly remembered by all his cousins, nieces, nephews and friends in both Italy and Canada. Vic was born in Vedelago, Italy and immigrated to Guelph as a teenager. He worked for many years at Rockwell International then retired from Barber Glass. Vic embraced his Italian Heritage and enjoyed spending time in his garden chatting over the fence with special friend and neighbour Maria Reginato. They could often be heard joking in Italian laughing and comparing the growth of their tomatoes and peppers every year for the past 60 years. Vic was an active member of the Italian Canadian Club spending many nights playing bocce and cards. He will be missed by his friends there, they were a large part of his life. Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph. A Funeral Service will take place at the Dublin Chapel on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 1 p.m. Private Interment to follow. If desired, donation to the Guelph Humane Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
