Sunrise November 27, 1927 Sunset February 15, 2021 With sadness, the family of Wilf Park shares that he passed away in the early hours of Monday, February 15, 2021. He resided at the Village of Riverside Glen in Guelph, ON. Unfortunately, Wilf was another victim of the COVID-19 virus. Wilf was born in Sarnia, ON, and was the last surviving child of James and Emily Park. The love of his life, Marilyn Park (Nicol), died in October 2019. He is survived by his "girls" Jan Park Dorsay (John) and Karen Slade (Mark), his grandchildren Craig (Adria), Brian (Krista) Kevin (Miriam) and Rachel (Brian), and great-grandchildren Nicholas, Jacob, Avery, and Tommy. Dad's brother-in- law Harland (Thelma) survives him. His brothers and sisters predeceased him, Anne (Don), Bob (Shirley), Muriel (Pete) and Dick (Shirley), as well as his brother-in-law Cleve Nicol (Helen). Many nieces and nephews will have fond memories of Uncle Wilf's laugh. Wilf spent most of his early years in the St. Thomas area, where he and Marilyn were high school sweethearts. He started his career as a teller at the Huron and Erie Bank in St. Thomas, ON, and retired as Assistant Vice President, Kitchener-Waterloo Region, TD Canada Trust. Wilf's work resulted in several transfers between Ontario and Saskatchewan. Everywhere that Wilf lived, he was involved in community service, Lions, Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs, the United Way, Crime Stoppers, Chamber of Commerce, and the Guelph Wellington Retired Men's Club. He served as treasurer of the Salvation Army's Kitchener branch. Wilf was a very social person, and community service gave him the opportunity to meet more people. He enjoyed many things, most of all family gatherings. He loved their last house in Cambridge which had a pool and big garden. He battled, but never won against the "critters" in his attempts to enjoy corn from his garden. Wilf and Marilyn both resided at Riverside Glen in their final years. He was devoted to Marilyn and visited her twice daily. Now they are together again. A celebration of Wilf's life will take place sometime in the future. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Salvation Army or Crime Stoppers.
