Ode to Gerry:
Gerry passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, with his family by his side. Terry, his wife and friend, daughter Jenna and partner Niki, son Bryce and daughter-in-law Lisa with grandkids Jake and Maizy, his sis Lulu, and Koda the dog. All his sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends, grandogs and neighbours will miss him deeply. Gerry was predeceased by Brooke, Joanie, his parents, and Terry's parents.
He was simply the best - husband, dad, brother, grandpa, uncle, and friend.
Gerry was a teacher, swimmer, pool boy, book lover, walker, animal lover, wine and food lover, sun worshipper and of course, a punster.
We must thank the best family ever for their constant work, support, and love, as well as our wonderful friends and neighbours for their amazing kindnesses.
Also... we must send gratitude to the tireless and patient healthcare folk who took care of us - Dr. Prangley, Vida our fearless day nurse, Denise on weekends, Laura and Kalla our PSWs, Tie the nurse coordinator, Carole our amazing OT. The teams at the Juravinski Cancer Care Centre, from the security guard to Dr. Khazemi, Dr. Shaw and Dr. Slaven. Mary from RightCare pharmacy. The Rexalls equipment crew, cancer assist, the paramedics from the 3P program, and Dr. Cameron and Tara- we absolutely commend and love you.
Please join us at Circle of Life Cremation and Burial Centre, 100 King Street East, Dundas, on Friday, May 26 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to have a salute to Gerry. (additional parking at the Air Force Club)
Donations to the Brant County SPCA, St. Joseph's Healthcare or your choice charity would be invaluable, if you'd like, in Gerry's honour.
"He's simply the best, better than all the rest... Better than anyone... he's one in a million."
