Timothy Thibault Obituary

THIBAULT: Timothy Joseph June 26, 1966 - Jan. 21, 2018 Timothy Joseph Thibault died at Humboldt District Hospital Sunday, January 21, 2018, lovingly surrounded by his family, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. Tim was born on June 25, 1966 in Regina to Herve and Marie Thibault (nee Eiswerth). Predeceased by his dad, Herve on August 22, 2012, Tim is survived by his loving wife Marina, children Kirsten Munroe (Craig), Celine, Rene and Rae Ann, mom Marie, brother Dan (Sheila) of Regina and sister Cheryl Thibault of Mission, B.C., along with their children and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Tim grew up in Regina, attended Archbishop O'Neil High School. He met his wife Marina Exner of Killaly, Saskatchewan on September 26, 1986 and married her June 25, 1991 at Wekusko Falls, Manitoba, an anniversary date he made sure he would not forget. Their first child Kirsten was born on October 31, 1989 and nearly four years later Celine came along on March 16, 1993. On January 30, 2001, Tim and Marina were blessed with twins, Rene and Rae Ann. To say that Tim loved playing music would be an understatement. An accomplished accordion player winning provincial music awards by the age of eight, he expanded his instruments to guitar, saxophone, mastering the piano keyboard. Tim played in numerous bands throughout his life, doing time on the road and weekend gigs throughout the province. His special nature made life-long friendships wherever he went. When he wasn't playing music, Tim would use his expertise to do sound and lighting production at concerts, festivals and events. He even went so far as to get certified in pyrotechnics, the art of blowing s**t up, as he called it. When he wasn't playing music, Tim worked as an Information Technologist (IT) throughout the years and it was his profession that brought him and his family to Humboldt in 1998, employed at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. He became a member of the Humboldt Fire Department from 1999-2008. He purchased a roadside sign business in 2005 and in later years became Service Operations Manager at Chegus RV in Watson where he found his niche and passion for leading. His love of learning combined with his sharp intellect earned him a Master Certified Technician in 2017, a very proud moment for him. It is not a stretch to say that Tim was a jack of all trades and a master of them all. In his spare time Tim was an active member of the community. He served on many boards and committees throughout the years including: volunteer technician at Cable Regina, Humboldt Public School Division Board Trustee, Humboldt Citizens on Patrol, Carlton Trail Arts & Culture Society, Humboldt & District Soccer Assn., Humboldt & District Chamber of Commerce and the Sask. Health Info Network committee. In addition, for many years he ran production for his daughter's dance recitals every year and coached league and traveling soccer while attending several coaching clinics. He grew to love the sport of soccer and the camaraderie of the sport family, almost never missing a tournament. Tim had many other interests. He enjoyed going northern fishing with his family and a good round of golf now and then; emphasis on the good. Camping and boating in the summer with his family and friends was always one of his most enjoyable getaways. Tim cherished the many people in his life, and his circle of friends encompassed a wide array of personalities and backgrounds. He loved talking and socializing and solving the world's problems. Anyone who knew him would agree that he wore his heart on his sleeve and what you saw is what you got. It gave him great pleasure to share his expansive knowledge and abilities with others to help them learn and grow. Tim's greatest treasure in life was his wife and children - they were his rock and his world. He lived simply and he simply lived. A memorial service for Tim's Walk of Life was held on Saturday, January 27, 2017 at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall, Humboldt, Sask. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Arts Humboldt and Kidsport Sask. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt (306-682-1622).

R.I.P. Tim. Seems like yesterday we were hanging out playing fooseball and jamming to "The Walk Of Life" at Sevens Night Club (1984). I will always remember when you introduced Marina to me for the first time. I had never seen you so happy. I will always remember that smile. My condolences to Marina and family.

You can use any measure
When you're speaking of success.
You can measure it in fancy home,
Expensive car or dress.
But the measure of your real success
Is the one you cannot spend.
It's the way your kids describe you
When they're talking to a friend.
