Florence Toni Thompson (nee Kirkham, Lemke), formerly of Calgary and Central Alberta, passed away in Penticton BC on October 27, 2016 at the age of 85 years. Born in Nisku, AB, Florence spent her early years in the Craig and New Hill Districts, before moving to Calgary, with husband George, where she raised her two sons, Brian and Douglas. She and George divorced in 1973 and she re-married Fred Thompson in 1974. In 1984, they moved to Penticton, B.C., where she resided, other than a short return to Red Deer after Fred passed away, until her sudden death. A private family graveside service will be held at the Innisfail Cemetery, Innisfail AB when her ashes will be laid to rest with her late mother, Olga Lemke. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Drop-In Centre in Spruce View AB on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 1:00 pm for a time of fellowship to reminisce and share your memories and stories about Florence.
