MYRTLE GROVET Obituary

Myrtle Eleanor Grovet (Spruce View, AB) passed away on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 at age 80. She died in a single vehicle accident near Spruce View.
Myrtle was born in Edmonton on May 23rd, 1936 to Maude Hager and Charles Albert Clarke. She and her six siblings were raised on a 'stump farm' homestead in Foley Timber, AB. In 1960, she married Ezequiel C. Raposo, followed by the birth of 5 children within 5 years. After her divorce from Zeke in 1975, she married Albert C. Grovet in 1986, but was widowed in 1989.
Myrtle believed in life-long learning – she left high school with grade 11, but continued to take educational courses. One of her proudest achievements was receiving her GED a few weeks before turning 60. Myrtle loved writing poetry and stories since high school.
She is survived by children Tony Raposo, Amario Raposo (Sylvia), Maria Haubrich (Allen), Dia Hurren (Heath), Alda Conroy (Kevin); by grandchildren Stephanie, Randy, Jennifer, Melissa, Ben, Carla, Joey, Joshua, Janelle; and great-grandchildren; brothers Allen and Elmer; sisters Gertrude, Violet, and Margaret; and members of the Grovet family. She was predeceased by Ezequiel C. Raposo and Albert C. Grovet; brother Robert Clarke; parents Maude and Charles Clarke.
A Memorial Service and luncheon was held at the Red Deer SDA Church on Nov. 12, 2016. She was laid to rest at the Raven Union Church Cemetery near Spruce View, AB.
