Carole Cormier Obituary

Carole Anne Cormier (nee Heeney) born March 18th, 1961, in Mississauga, passed peacefully in the arms of her daughters on December 3rd, 2022. She is survived by her husband Arthur Cormier, and daughters Andrea and Ashley (Aram), her mother Joyce Cutler, and her siblings John Heeney (Cathy), and Kathleen Merkel (Ivan). She is predeceased by her father John Heeney in 2001, and her brothers Michael and Daniel Heeney in 2020 and 2021, respectively. Carole loved her family more than anything and enjoyed all her family get-togethers. She loved nothing more than planning a big summer BBQ or Christmas dinner. Being a mother was her greatest reward in life and was the perfect example of a loving and supportive parent. Her work family at Gerrie electric, whom she had the pleasure of knowing for 33 years held a special place in her heart. Carole had a passion for helping to lead the next generation of young women and in doing so dedicated 20 years of her life to Girl Guides of Canada.
A celebration of life will be held on March 18th, 2023 as per her request. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Ian Anderson House.

I was shocked and so saddened to hear about Carole's passing. Carole was my daughter's Girl Guide leader for 3 years, and I volunteered alongside Carole and her daughter, Andrea, during this time. I was always in admiration of Carole's talents - all the activities and crafts she came up with and brought to each meeting. The boxes, and boxes of craft supplies were incredible! And her prodigious camping expertise and skills were phenomenal. She had an obvious love of animals and family, particularly her two daughters (and all the pets that Andrea came home with). I'm sure she will be truly missed by all who knew her, and especially her family and her two daughters that she loved so much. Rest in peace, Carole. I feel privileged to have known you.

Dear Arthur, Andrea and Ashley,

We are deeply saddened to hear of Carole's passing. We met Carole through the Oakville 24th Guides where she was a leader to our daughters Sophie and Emilie - and what a leader she was! Under Carole's guidance, Sophie enjoyed three years of amazing camping trips, outings, and experiences that gave her memories that she will have for a lifetime. Emilie's first year of Guides with Carole was during COVID so meetings had to be virtual - but Carole made it the best hours of her week with cooking meetings, crafts, movie and game nights and so much more during a difficult year. Her patience and humour made her an incredible leader and we were fortunate to have known her.
Thinking of you all,
Laurie, Danny, Sophie and Emilie

I no longer worked with Carole and haven't seen her for a couple of years so it was pretty shocking to hear this very sad news. I had the pleasure of working with Carole for 14 years at Gerrie Electric. We always got along quite well together and could count on each other when we needed help. We always talked about our "Mother/Daughter weekend outings" whenever we went out with our Moms. She always spoke so proudly about her Girls and Mom, meant the world to her. She was always on the go with Girl Guides, the Car Shows and just everything in between.
My condolences to her girls, Andrea & Ashley, and the rest of her family.
You will be missed Carole! RIP

We were so sorry to learn of Carole's passing. We were so blessed that Carole dedicated her career to Gerrie Electric. She was a loyal and dedicated member of the Oakville Gerrie team. She was a trailblazer at Gerrie being one of the very first women to serve our customers on the counter in her early years. We miss her terribly and pass on our heartfelt condolences to each of you. Your mom was fiercely proud of you girls. May the many wonderful memories each of you have bring you comfort, love and support during this difficult and emotional time.
