Giuseppe DEVITO

DEVITO, Giuseppe (Joe) Passed away in the early morning of Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, after a long and tough battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the love of his family until the very end when he succumbed to his illness at the age of 61. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends at the Ford Motor Co. in Oakville where he proudly worked for over 35 years. Joe was the loving father of Daniel and Kayla Devito. Survived by his sisters Nicoletta Geronimo (Vito), Diane Scotta (Luigi), and brother Rocco Devito (Christina). He was loved and cared for by his many nieces and nephews. Joe was born in Toritto, Bari, Italy on May 13, 1957 and immigrated to Canada with his parents and siblings in November, 1965 - Joe was eight years old. He called Oakville home for over 53 years. Joe had a passion for antiquing and was excited by unique finds in his travels and looked forward to each and every adventure on the weekends. He was a kind and very gentle soul, who had an infectious laugh and a zest for life. He loved his children, a proud father, brother, loving uncle and a good provider, he was unquestionably a dedicated and hard worker - Always leaving some time to live life to it's fullest. This was his legacy. The family would like to thank all the Nurses and Doctors at OTMH that cared for Joe, and a special thank-you to the staff of 3 North who patiently cared for him and kept him comfortable in his last months and days. A visitation was held on Tuesday, Jan 22nd, followed by the funeral and a Celebration of Life which was held with close family and friends on Wednesday, Jan 23rd.
