Suddenly, on March 28, Graham Newbigging, left this world for his next adventure. Perhaps it should not be a surprise that his heart gave out, since he loved his family and friends so fiercely. He will be dearly missed by his partner and best friend, Colleen Lowe, and his four incredible children, Cally (Peanut), Alex (Wee Man), Catharine (Dolly), and Carly (Carly Bear). Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Ellenor Newbigging. Missing their baby brother are Stuart (Lisa Davis) and Grant Newbigging. His knack for technology and willingness to always lend a hand at the cottage will be missed by Margaret and John Lowe. He passes on the BBQ tongs to his brother-in-law, Kevin Lowe (Shannon). Graham leaves behind his niece and nephews - Dana, Scott, Damon, Owen, and Carson. He will be remembered with fondness by Cally and Alex's mom, Susan Camilleri. And of course, his dogs, Otis and Charlotte, will miss napping with Dad. Graham loved a good cup of coffee first thing in the morning and could never pass up an apple turnover. Or a cinnamon bun. Or a cookie. He loved all things tech and was fascinated by ChatGBT (which, for the record, is not useful when it comes to writing obituaries). Though he was born in Montreal, and lived Toronto-adjacent, he cheered for Boston. He was very proud of his Scottish roots, though he preferred a slice of pizza and gelato to haggis. He was happiest at the family cottage on Kahshe Lake, enjoying kayak rides, long swims, and epic family game nights. He was no fun to play Pictionary with because he drew too well and, if the title of Monopoly champion was on the line, he could always stay up as late as necessary. We will be forever grateful to the EMS personnel who worked to save Graham, the ICU team at Joseph Brant Hospital for their unwavering compassion, and the Trillium Gift of Life team. Graham's final selfless gesture was the gift of sight. A celebration of Graham's life will be held at the Burlington Golf & Country Club on April 18, 2023, at 12 p.m. Tributes will begin at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, hug your loved ones. Time waits for no one.
