James VAUGHAN Obituary

Dick passed peacefully at home with his family by his side, on Wednesday, March 16th, 2022, in his 80th year. Loving husband and best friend of Priscilla Vaughan (nee Gallant); caring father of Nancy (Paul) Vaughan and Susan (James) Vaughan; and proud grandfather of Maddison and Zachary. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Barbara, Jeannie and Peter, his extended family and his many friends.

Dick was a connoisseur of ice cream and a crossword puzzle master. He loved to drive, whether it be a coast-to-coast trek, or a quick jaunt to Sauble Beach for a hamburger and a slice of cherry berry pie. For many years driving was his job and upon retirement he put his talent to good use as a volunteer driver for the Red Cross and Food for Life.

Our heartfelt thanks to all of Dick's many doctors, nurses and support workers who cared for him throughout his journey.

For those who wish, donations in Dick's honour to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Cancer Assistance Program (Hamilton) would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

A celebration of Dick's life will be held later in the spring.

Dear Priscilla....we are so sorry to hear of Richard´s passing. Richard and I grew up in Summerside only a block from each other. We shared many good times during the 40s, 50s and early 60s. One standout was when we participated in a car rally road race on the back roads of P.E.I....not sure we even had a drivers license. Richard loved to drive.
Please extend our sincere condolences to your entire family as Richard will be very missed,
Jim and Pauline Johnston.
