I taught with Joe in a Brampton HS decades ago. He was a fine teacher and the classiest of people. He also had mischievous sense of humour. A professional who didn´t take life too seriously.

Joe was my teaching buddy, a colleague and a terrific mentor during my years at JA Turner SS. We shared the same work table and had many good laughs together. Even during a rough day he had a word of encouragement. A gentle man, a superb teacher - Joe will be missed. His legacy goes long and deep - he exemplifies the very highest ideals of teaching as he taught Geography and shared his love for Canada´s terrain and its history. May he Rest In Peace.

I taught with Joe in the 70's at J.A.Turner S.S. I have happy memories of those years. Joe was a friend on staff I fondly remember. Great teacher the students both admired and respected. My condolences to his family.

I also met Joe as a resident of Rand House in Whidden Hall at McMaster University. I echo the comments made by our mutual friend and Rand House resident Myles West. Joe was indeed a fine person with a wonderful sense of humour. When we moved to Milton in 1994 I was delighted to discover that Joe was now a neighbour residing down the street and around the corner from our new home. Over the next several years we shared many laugh filled conversations when we met on our respective walks (me usually accompanied by our dogs). Remembrances of our days at McMaster and the great friends we made there were often a topic of conversation. We were all deeply saddened when Joe's illness made such meetings no longer possible.
My sincere condolences to Joe's family.

Joe was a McMaster University and residence colleague of mine starting in 1965. He was a wonderful friend and the last time I saw him was with Christa @ our 25th Anniversary of graduation in 1994. I've kept touch with his whereabouts and exchanged Xmas cards until Christa's passing. He was a gentle soul and will be sorely missed. Condolences to the family and RIP my old dear friend.
