Philip KERR Obituary

KERR, Philip Stanley It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Philip on Monday, October 15, 2018 at the age of 72. Beloved only son of the late E. Stanley Kerr and Helen Kerr (nee Hooper). Philip will be lovingly remembered by his cousins Anne Hooper and Helen Reading (Hooper) and by close friends Angie and Rudy Wilson as well as Sarah, Shelanda and Shelancia and their families and Jennifer. Philip will be missed by his friends at Community Living where he worked for over 52 years and by his family at Christian Horizons where he lived for the past 28 years. Philip was a quiet man with an inquisitive mind; he was fascinated by the idea of travel and never tired of learning about the places he might visit. Friends will remember him as a gentle man with a great sense of humour who loved spending time with people. Special thanks to the staff at Christian Horizons for the compassionate care they provided to Philip. Thanks also to all the staff at OTMH especially those in 3 North unit 2 and 5 Centre for the exceptional care offered during his time in hospital. The family will receive friends at Oakview Funeral Home , 56 Lakeshore Rd. W. (1 block east of Kerr St., Oakville 905-842-2252 on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 10 a.m. - 11 p.m. With a Funeral Service beginning at 11 a.m. in the Oakview Chapel. Burial to follow at St. Jude's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations can be made in Philip's name to the Oakville Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice. I had taken a picture of Phil at Hopedale Mall in January 2018 that came up in my memories today, I reposted the memory today, someone asked how Phil was doing another mentioned he had passed. I sorry to hear. I did go over to talk for a few moments with Phil this day he had the same inquisitive thoughts and questions he has had as far back as I can recall when crossing paths back in the early 70's .... my condolences.
