It is with great sadness that the family of Giuseppe Amantea announces his passing on September 14, 2022, at the age of 99. Giuseppe was born in Calabria, Italy and emigrated to Canada in 1954. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 75 years, Maria and six children, Lina Campo (Tony Ceravolo), Carmela Colonna (Rocco deceased), Frank (Adele), Marisa Soukup (Ed), Lou (Lynda), Nancy Zavarella (Chester). He was predeceased in death by his parents Amelia and Felice, Siblings; Francesco (Clarice), Giovanni (Dina), Maria Garro, Antonio (Teresa), Salvatore (Gilda), sister-in-law Emilia, brothers-in-law Giuseppe Sproviero, Agostino Oresti and Peter D'Attoma. He will also be lovingly remembered by his surviving brother-in-law Alfredo Garro, siblings - Gennario, Rosa Sproviero, Onorina Oresti, Gina D'Attoma, his 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter, his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Giuseppe worked at various occupations until taking retirement from the Halton Separate School Board as a custodian. His passions were working in his greenhouse, large garden, winemaking, and most of all spending time with his family. Special thanks to the live-in caregivers, private Personal Support Workers (PSWs), PSWs from Acclaim, Dr. Malik, and her Palliative care team from ParaMed, and family physician Dr. Tom Stanton and staff. Visitation will be held at SCOTT FUNERAL HOME "MISSISSAUGA CHAPEL", 420 Dundas Street East, Mississauga Ontario, L5A 1X5, on September 19, 2022, at times 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service to be held at SCOTT FUNERAL HOME "MISSISSAUGA CHAPEL" on September 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at GLEN OAKS CEMETERY, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, (Ninth Line & Dundas St. E).
