1928 - 2022

December 22, 1928 - July 31, 2022.
Passed away peacefully on July 31, 2022 after a brief illness, in his 94th year. Beloved husband of 64 years to Virginia (nee Morris) and father to Pierre (Maryann), David (Ai), Stephen Joseph (Debbie) and Michele. Adored grandfather to Chantal, Annina, Jackson, Zoe, Lacielle and great-grandchild Laurenz. 'Mon Oncle' to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Roland, Dennis, Gerrard, Raymond, Louis and sisters Francoise and Denise. Survived by brothers Henri, Jean-Paul and sisters Georgette and Yvonne. He is lovingly remembered by family and friends for his kindness, humility, humour and love of fishing and working on things at the cottage. Yvon worked in metal fabrication from one end of Canada to the other with his young wife and family often following along with him. He finally settled in the community of Milton, Ontario in the mid 60's. With his family, he celebrated life. He enjoyed regular appearances at the family reunion and fishing at the family cottage at Barcovan Beach. He tended to his roses and tomatoes in the garden and could dance into the late hours with his dancing queen, Virginia. He could play the spoons, turn a piece of metal or wood into a 'whatchamacallit' in no time and recite the words to almost any Hank Williams song. He WAS the original MacGyver. A visitation will be held at Scott Early Funeral Home, 21 James St., Milton (905) 878-2669 on Sunday, August 7th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Church, 139 Martin St., Milton on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 11 a.m. If desired, donations can be made to Townsend Smith Foundation Hospice or Milton District Hospital Auxiliary.
