Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love and support of her family on Monday, May 16, 2022, at the age of 72. Loving wife of Sterling Bennett. Cherished mother of Teresa Bennett (William Joynt). Proud grandmother of Melissa Joynt (Brandon MacPherson), Bridget (Paul) Tunnoch, and Wes (Kristyn) Joynt. Great-grandmother of Liam Tunnoch. Dear sister of the late Colin (Maureen) Beatty. Dear sister-in-law of Margaret (late John) Wilson, Gwen (Len) Spoelder, Harvey (Ann Marie) Bennett, and Gerald (Angie) Bennett. Missed by her brothers-in-law Don Giff and Woody Cochrane. Predeceased by her parents Gord and Anna Beatty, brothers-in-law; Morley, Hope (Joan), Rodger (Earlene), Francis, and sisters-in-law; Louise (John) Suffron, Miriam (Earl) Carruthers, Ruby Giff, Emily Cochrane, and Lorena (Bob) Devitt. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Diane's family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the nurses, PSWs from Saint Elizabeth and Bayshore, and Dr. Graeme Hendry. Friends were invited to pay their respects at the Lannin Funeral Home on Friday, May 20, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Smiths Falls. Interment took place immediately following the funeral service at Hillcrest Cemetery. A Celebration of Life was held after the interment at the Civitan Club, Smiths Falls. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church Capital Memorial Fund would be greatly appreciated.
