Douglas HUNTER Obituary

Of Smiths Falls, passed peacefully at the Perth Hospital on Thursday, March 24, 2022 in his 95th year. Doug, loving husband of Marian Hunter (nee Brunton). Devoted father to Gordon Hunter, Ian Hunter, Bruce Hunter, Muriel Hunter, Carol (Dave) Prevost, Murray (Olga) Hunter, Norman Hunter, and Tom Hunter. Cherished grandfather of six and great-grandfather of four. Doug is predeceased his parents Jason and Florence (Johnson) Hunter, his siblings Agnes Fee, and James Hunter, and brothers-in-law Stanley (Margaret) Brunton, and Keith Brunton. Doug is survived by brother-in-law Pat Fee and sisters-in-law Marion Hunter and Irene Brunton. Doug will also be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Doug came to Smiths Falls in 1948, and worked with CP Rail until he retired in the late 1980's. The Hunter family would like to extend a note of sincere gratitude to the many Personal Support Workers who tended to Doug's care in his final years which allowed him to reside at home through to his final days.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Lannin Funeral Home. A Celebration of Doug's Life will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Doug may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Online condolences may be left at www.lannin.ca
