August 12, 1926 - July 02, 2022
James "Jim" Ernest Plumb, 95, of Carleton Place, died peacefully July 2nd 2022 with his family at his side and his sense of humour intact. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Lynda, his younger brother Bob and his family, his son Jonathan (Christopher), step-sons Chris (Angie) and Andy (Marissa), and many grand and great-grand children. He is pre-deceased by his son Stephen (Maureen). He was in the RAF and was a specialist in Marine Insurance. He was an active Veteran and a loyal supporter of the Carleton Place Legion.
Jim was born in Leyton, England. He then emigrated to Canada in 1968 and lived outside of Toronto. After a time, he moved to Ottawa to work for the Federal Government as a Risk Manager until he retired in 1990. Jim sat on many committees with the Legion BRI92 and the St. James Anglican Church. His love was of reading, tennis, and music: the classics. He found great joy with his pets Rupert and Teddy (dogs) and Sam and Beckey (cats). He will be missed by many who would say what a lovely man he was.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Roger Drake and Dr. Grey for their care and compassion and to the nurses on the 2nd floor of the Carleton Place Hospital for all of their kindness and understanding of his needs.
A graveside service will be held at St. James Anglican Cemetery at a later date, to be determined. Those wishing may make memorial donations to a
charity of their choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home in Carleton Place.
