John Kelly Obituary
John Leonard Kelly died peacefully at St Joseph's Hospital on Friday 19 November 2021.
He was born 16 May 1939 in Smiths Falls, Ontario, the son of Emmett and Mary Kelly.
John is predeceased by his wife Shirley in 2019, his wife Jackie in1995 and his five brothers; Leo, Desmond, Joseph, Gerald and Michael. He is survived by his sisters Carmel Ulrick, Rita Row, sister-in-law Marilyn Kelly and 11 Nieces and Nephews.
John worked in a variety of fields but found his gift was in helping and supporting people in crisis. As an active member of the AA community for over 45 years, he helped many. John loved his family, friends and his community, particularly Joan of Arc Parish where he volunteered with St Vincent de Paul and numerous other parish groups.
John appreciated the amazing support he received from Reconnect Community Health Services, especially from his PSWs Wilma and Grace. A special thanks to Jan Dillion and William Lee and his many devoted friends who enabled John to remain in his home until he was admitted to hospital a few weeks ago.
John's family wishes to thank everyone who supported him throughout his last days. We are grateful for the exceptional care he received from the Medical and Chaplains team at St Joseph's Hospital, the caring Sisters from Madonna House and the spiritual care of Father Steve and Father Bob.
The Memorial Mass will take place at Saint Joan of Arc Parish at a later date.
