John Arnold Mitchell

Arnold passed away in the Perth hospital on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the age of 89 years. He was the dear father of Robert (late Elizabeth), Donald, Ellen (Gerry) Cole and Diane (Doug) Ladouceur. He was the cherished grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of 18. John was predeceased by his parents Albert and Martha (Sweeny) Mitchell, his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley I. (McNicol) Mitchell and her son Wayne McNicol. He was the dear brother of Elizabeth (late Desmond) Vaughn, Frank (late Doris) Mitchell, the late Agnes and Frank Emon, Marina (late James), Elliot and Florence (late Tom) Healey. Arnold was the step-brother of the late Everett and Lou Labelle, the late Fern and Boyd Roberts and Eric (late Diane) Labelle. Arnold retired from Lanark County Roads Department as a snow plow driver. He was a proud member for over 30 years of the Golden Triangle Steam and Antique Preservers Association. He will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, family and many, many friends. A private family service will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. in the Blair & Son Funeral Chapel, Perth. Those wishing are invited to join the service by zoom link which will be available Tuesday, May 25th on this site. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Middleville. In remembrance of Arnold, donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute, 40 Ruskin St, Ottawa, ON K1Y 4W7 would be appreciated.
