We celebrate the life of Kathleen Skillen. As she was known to her friends, Katie was born in Belfast, Ireland. She immigrated to Canada with her husband Gerald in 1967. Katie, and her husband, became active members of the Carleton Place community when they opened and operated Gerry's bakery and Erin's tearoom. Katie will be missed but remembered by her husband Gerald and their two children, Sean and Paul, grandchildren Kristin, Chelsea, Lena, and Emma, and her great-grandchild Talon, along with another who will arrive soon. We will never forget her selfless support of her family and friends and her generosity to others. Per her wishes, we celebrated her life with a small gathering of family and friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Alan R.Barker Funeral Home, Carleton Place. www.barkerfh.com
