Leanne NISBET Obituary

Leanne passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Kingston General Hospital surrounded by her family at the age of 55. After fighting valiantly for two months, Leanne succumbed to the many serious complications that developed following surgery. She was the beloved wife and best friend of Glenn Nisbet, and the treasured and loving mother of Kaitlin Nisbet. Leanne was the cherished sister of Rosemary (Steve) Musclow (nee Blair) and sister-in-law of Brenda (Michael) Jackson (nee Nisbet) and Cathy (Maurice) Lacombe (nee Nisbet). She will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews; Tyler, Sarah, Andrew and Robert Musclow, Brooks (Tammy) Lacombe, Ashley (Mathew) Buertenshaw (nee Lacombe) and Matthew and the late Stephanie Jackson, and by her great-nieces and nephews; Mariel and Mason Harvey, Dakota Lacombe and Ryder and Eli Burtenshaw. Leanne will be fondly remembered by her aunts and uncles; Denice Crampton, John and Debbie Blair, Pat and Paul Duffy, Paula Waite, Ines Waite and Ray Crampton. She was predeceased by her parents Murray and Nancy (nee Waite) Blair, Glenn's parents Murray and Joyce Nisbet and by her brother-in-law David Nisbet. Leanne will be missed by many extended family (Josh, Nicole, Jayden and Jonah Bowes), cousins, friends, co-workers and neighbours. Glenn, Kaitlin and Rosemary would like to thank Christine O'Donohue and Kelly Murphy for their strong and unwavering support through this difficult time as well as, all of the friends, neighbors, and family who dropped by with food and well wishes. From the young age of 11, Leanne had an interest in playing the guitar and singing. She participated in various talent shows and concerts until she joined the Country 5 at the age of 14. Over the next 30 years or so she played in several bands and with many, many musicians she admired and respected. Leanne had a personality for entertaining. She lit up a room with her bright smile and infectious laughter. She could tell a story like no-one else and found humour in everything. Leanne started her working career as a radio announcer with CJET and Q 101, and later filled in for a few shifts at Lake 88. She then accepted a position at the CDSBEO and soon moved into the new St. John High School as a secretary where she became "the voice of St. John" - the voice on the intercom, and the first voice you heard when you called the school. She remained an integral part of the St. John family until she left to have her surgery in November. The St. John staff have been so supportive during this terrible time and Leanne's family would like to thank them for their loving thoughts and prayers, food, and generosity. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a celebration of her life will take place at a later date when it is safe to gather. In memory of Leanne, memorial contributions to an education fund for Katie has been established. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Perth.

Glen and Kaitlin. We are so sad to learn of Leanne's passing. Please accept our deepest sympathies. She was a great cottage neighbour. She always had time to say hello, swap stories, and offer a seat on the deck. We will miss her so much. John and Bi.
