Margaret Attwell Obituary

March 9, 1930 — January 27, 2022

Beloved wife of the late Reverend Edward Attwell (2009) passed peacefully in hospital January 27th. Along with a RN career (30 years at the Ottawa Civic), there were countless years of pastoral and volunteer service in various parishes, from Gorrie, to Kanata, to Smiths Falls. Margaret's faith journey led her to become an Associate with The Sisterhood of St. John the Divine (Anglican Convent) for 35 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, David (Verna), Mary, Ruth, and Michael (late Beth and Anne); grandchildren Keith, Ashley, Samuel, and Matthew (Jackie). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, especially niece and goddaughter Sue Hodgins and her family (Faramarz, Donyal, Areeyon). Predeceased by her parents, David and Mabel Ashworth, sister Marion (late Roscoe) Hodgins, and sister-in-law Frances (late Johnny) Narejko. Survived by her brother-in-law Paul (Barbara) Attwell, and sister-in-law Ruth (late Jack) Attwell.

Visitation was Monday, January 31 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Smiths Falls. A Funeral service took place on Tuesday, February 1 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in Smiths Falls, or The Sisterhood of St. John the Divine in Toronto. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lannin Funeral Home. Online condolences available at www.lannin.ca

My deepest sympathy to all of Margaret's family. I had the pleasure to work with your Mom on the Geriatric Ward. It was Palm Sunday, and she taught me how to make a cross from the the palms we received from the chapel. She was always a delight to work with. Dear Margaret, may angels sing thee to thy rest, God Bless. Fondly Don Timpson RN.
