Ruth was such a wonderful person. We will miss her. We first met her when our two children took piano lessons with her many years ago. She was a talented musician. I know she also played the violin and accordion.
Ruth was a great cook, noted for her professional cakes but was adept at many other dishes as well. She hosted many meals for friends and the food was always great.
Ruth was a model Christian and set an example for others with her faith. We attended many prayer meetings and groups with her. Her prayers were meaningful and appreciated. I can´t recall her ever saying anything bad or demeaning about anyone. I´m sure the Lord has welcomed her into His kingdom.
We will never forget her friendship. She never forgot birthdays and usually sent cards. When she had her car she visited us, often with treats; later in her life she made regular phone calls. If only there were more people in the world like her.
We apologize for not attending her wake. All of us are currently suffering from a respiratory virus which seems to be very contagious and do not want to expose others.

When my father was ill, Ruth was exceptionally kind in that she brought some venison stew and baked goods to him (and other things at other times) while my dad was alive and lived with my mom across from Stead's farm in Hopetown. I think Mom knew Ruth from some group Ruth was part of (not the Church as my mom was a St. John's Presbyterian vs. Ruth's church). Ruth was a very kind, giving soul and the world is poorer for her passing. I suppose it is an old phrase, but "Another angel has earned her wings" surely fits in the case of Ruth. We grieve with you and we wish the family all peace and we hope the grieving and processing comes to a point where only the great memories remain. -- The Barclays of Hopetown (now of Nepean)
